Sioned Edwards from S4C’s Garddio a Mwy delighted members with a demonstration of floral arrangements using flowers that we all grow in our gardens.
Sioned is a North Wales-based celebrity florist with a distinctive style, naturally creative, eclectic and whimsical. Inspired by the beautiful Vale of Clwyd, foraged bracken, twigs, moss and grasses often find their way into many of her creations.
Her floral arrangements are created from seasonal, locally sourced flowers with colour, textures and an abundance of scented blooms, with sustainability at the heart. Sioned strives towards organic creations both in style and substance, and encouraged members to do the same. No ‘oasis’ is used. The mechanics are all natural, including an oasis substitute, commercially available, made from sheep’s wool. You can’t get more locally sustainable than that in Wales!
Sioned generously donated her arrangements created on the evening for our raffle, and the lucky prize-winners took them home to inspire their own creations.
