When the Garden Club was established in 2003 one of the aspirations amongst members of the new Club was that some of us would open our gardens to the public in the future. Now, many years later, a good number of the Club Members do open their gardens to the public, some have done so for many years.

An RHS Partner Garden and Garden Organic Growing Partner. RHS Partner Garden of the Year 2022.

Nant-y-Bedd is a 10-acre organic garden nestled in the forested Grwyne Fawr valley, 1,200ft above sea level in the Black Mountains of Wales. Crafted over more than 40 years, the garden extends uphill into the forest and slopes gently down to the Grwyne Fawr River.
Sustainability takes centre stage at Nant-y-Bedd. There is no reliance on store-bought compost or potting mixes; instead, Sue makes her own, with compost bins constantly yielding a rich, friable product. Seeds are saved and resown, and hazel is coppiced to provide supports for runner beans and peas.
Other highlights include a rope bridge leading to a natural swimming pond, a treehouse overlooking the river (a Special Area of Conservation for salmon and otter) and in spring, a bluebell-fringed walk along the river leads into the forest. Closer to the house, visitors can find the Edible Forest Garden and the Cottage Garden.
